A Computer Science student has won the Bristol Entrepreneur's Society Business Plan Competition. Jenny Griffiths, a fourth year student, won the competition based on her final year project on Image Processing and Computer Vision.
The idea, a non-semantic fashion search engine named "Snap Fashion", allows consumers to upload an image of a piece of clothing, with the website returning similar items to the user. The product would allow users to search for clothing bargains online, or copy trends set by celebrities.
Also in the final of the competition was a group of second year Computer Scientists, calling themselves "PandaPic", who pitched their image manipulation
software designed for use in schools.
The competition consisted of an initial business ideas outline, followed by a "Dragon's Den" style presentation in front of entrepreneurs. More information on the competition can be found at http://www.bristolentrepreneurs.co.uk/businessplan.php
