New Lectureship in Computer Science

The Department aims to appoint a suitable candidate to lead the research activities in next generation computing architectures and algorithms. The successful candidate would contribute to research and teaching in an area related to Computer Architecture, Microelectronics, Embedded Systems, Distributed Algorithms or Computation. The post-holder may contribute to our MSc in Advanced Microelectronic Systems Engineering and could extend our links with the local, and international, microelectronics industry. The University has made significant investment in High Performance Computing and storage (circa £7M) to support the research and teaching activities across the six faculties in the University. The position offers significant opportunities to contribute to another major strategic investment (circa £6M) in the Faculty of Engineering which will address some of the research challenges in Computing, Communications and Intelligence.
Applicants should have (or be about to receive) a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Applicants should also be able to show evidence of an ability to establish and pursue a program of high quality research, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching.
