On March 17th, an event will be organised to launch the Bristol SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter. This chapter is intended to bring together professionals from industry, academia, and art. Interested parties are welcome to attend the event.
ACM SIGGRAPH is the largest community of researchers, artists, developers and anyone enthusiastic about Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. ACM SIGGRAPH chapters exist in numerous areas around the world, bringing together the local graphics communities, enabling them to transfer knowledge and skills, meet like-minded people and learn about new developments in the area throughout the year.
The Bristol Student SIGGRAPH Chapter was founded in 2002 and has been run since then by students in the Graphics Group at the University of Bristol with great success. In parallel to our Student Chapter, we have decided to found a Professional Chapter for Bristol and surrounding areas, aiming to bring like-minded people together through a variety of educational, networking and entertainment events. By providing a forum for interaction between researchers, developers, artists and professionals in the area of computer graphics, we hope to contribute to a vibrant local community and help to provide contacts, enable networking, and facilitate knowledge transfer between our members. We would be delighted to see you, your colleagues or anyone you think might be interested there! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
