Bristol researchers present latest developments in GPU computing at SuperComputing 2013 in Denver

A Bristol team has been selected to give a parallel computing workshop at the prestigious SuperComputing conference. Simon McIntosh-Smith and three members of his research group from the Department of Computer Science will run a workshop on an introduction to OpenCL programming at SC'13 in Denver, USA. The workshop is jointly organised with Intel and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Computer Scientists at The University of Bristol have teamed with Zenotech to deliver the HPC4schools initiative. This is one of the first projects anywhere in the world which lets school children loose on millions of pounds worth of supercomputing equipment. The project challenges to school children to see if they can use HPC techniques to optimise the design of the Bloodhound 1000mph car.
