Task

Please research the history of one chosen major player in the operating system area:

• The History of Apple
• The History of Microsoft [ie. Windows]
• The History of Unix

or famous theoretician/early CS person:

• Turing
• Babbage
• Ada
• Shannon
• von Neumann
• Dijkstra

Prepaper a talk for 10 mins or so on the chosen system/person.

Alternativelly, the tutorial can focus on discussion of a more recent event from Computing history: the Millenium Bug. Please have a look on the paper "Myth of the year 2000" in The Computer Journal 41: 67-70, 1998, which had described the prediction and worries, and discuss them during the tutorial.
