Current Project
I am a member of the Applied Research
Team at the University of Bristol,
a group of researchers from five different University of Bristol
departments (Computer
Science, Electrical and
Electronic Engineering, Engineering
Mathematics, Experimental
Psychology
, Mathematics) financed by GCHQ and the
University of Bristol.
The Computer Science project "Infomation Integration and Data
Mining" aims to develop methods for
integrating and mining heterogeneous digital information from a wide
variety of sources
including newsgroups postings, on-line scientific papers, and web
repositories. Tasks such as mining and learning
from networked data, entity deduplication, and the identification of
atypical data, are the main focus of
this project.
General Background
Before I came to Bristol, I was a lecturer (2004-2005) in the
Computer Science department of UEA, Norwich, and a Research Associate
in the Computer Science Department of
Magdeburg University (2000-2003) and Bonn University (2003-2004). I
received my PhD from Bonn
University, Germany.
