Dr. Kirsten Cater

Me I am a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Bristol.

I studied Computer Science as my first degree here at Bristol University graduating in July 2000 with a 2:1. I then went on to do a PhD again in Computer Science here at Bristol University with Professor Alan Chalmers as my supervisor, which I completed in June 2004. In my final year of completing my PhD I went to work as a postdoc on a project called Mobile Bristol. This project focussed on creating and researching pervasive experiences in both urban and public spaces.

Interests

I am extreme when it comes to my hobbies - if it's mad and it's dangerous then I'll be there!! I have done two bungee jumps, one at Victoria Falls which is 111m and one at the World's highest commercial bungee jump at Bloukrans in South Africa which is a stonking 216m jump. I've also done a 9000ft freefall, been canyoning, caving, waterskiing, white water rafting, jetboating, body-surfing, handgliding, cage diving with great white sharks and much more ......
