Bristol Scientist To Chair Major Data Mining Conference

The ACM SIGKDD Executive Committee has invited Professor Peter Flach to chair the Program Committee of the 2009 Knowledge Discovery in Databases conference, together with Professor Mohammed Zaki from Renselaer Polytechnic Institute. The ACM KDD conference is the major data mining conference world-wide. In 2009 it will be held in Paris, the first time out of North-America since its inception as an annual conference in 1995. Professor Flach has previously been PC co-chair of the 1999 conference on Inductive Logic Programming, and the 2001 European Conference on Machine Learning.
