A group of 1st Year students on the High Tech Enterprise unit submitted their business plan to the annual JacoBus Challenge at Jacobs University, Germany and travelled to the competition which took place 27-28 April 2012 where they were awarded the GTBiomeScilt Award.

Dominique Tan, Alexandru Dumitrescu, Maciej Lukasz Kumorek and Marie Christa Mpundu (with John Troumpis and Cristian Cernatescu unable to attend) convinced the jury panel with "StockedApp": a fridge app that keeps track of the expiry dates of fresh products. Their app provides customers with reminders to use expiring food, as well as tailored offers from supermarkets.

The winners received their prizes in front of more than 100 guests who had gathered in Jacobs University’s East Wing. They have passed two online rounds and successfully argued for their projects in front of a panel of renowned professors, industry representatives, entrepreneurs and the general public.
