In the Summer 2011 edition of the IISP's Pulse magazine Prof. Nigel Smart charts the development and future direction of cryptographic research. In Prof. Smart's article the development of cryptography from the simple study of sending messages securely from A to B, through to the development of modern cryptography with it's analysis of various application domains, is charted.
Pulse is the magazine of the IISP (the Institute of Information Security Professionals). The IISP is an independent not-for-profit body whose aim is to provide a universally accepted focal point for the information security profession.
Bristol's Cryptography Research Group is a member of the working party of the IISP looking into formalising Academic Partner status within the IISP.
