Two grants worth £200K for PhD Studentships in Vision and Robotics

An EPSRC CASE Studentship grant worth £88K and a Leverhulme Trust grant worth £113K have been awarded to Prof. Majid Mirmehdi. 

The CASE studentship is in collaboration with Jaguar Cars Ltd. and aims to develop novel, driver assistance algorithms for automated sign and text recognition. Further details about application are available here.

The Leverhulme Trust grant is for two PhD studentships in the areas of vision and robotics in joint collaboration with Prof. Chris Melhuish and Prof. Tony Pipe. The work will be based in the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (a joint venture with the University of West of England) and involves robot-based manipulation of everyday objects for reading their printed text.
