Videos from the 3rd Mexican Tournament of Cleaner Robots.
Category: Aquatics

Website, Veracruz, Mexico. July, 2006

Nobody thought we would be able to do it, but we did!! The challenge: to construct a robot able to navigate in a pool. The robot was meant to collect as many floating blue balls as possible, but the task doesn't finish there. Every ball had to be deposited within a ring in a corner of the pool illuminated by a lamp. The winning team would be the one who managed to deposit the biggest number of balls into the ring.

Thinking the unthinkable!!!

Juan Francisco Robles Camacho, Santos Martin López Estrada and me, Computer Science Master students from INAOE, formed the team named robo-sailors. We built the aquatic robot entitled to solve the task, we named it RALM. I forgot what the acronym stands for. Anyway, here there are some short videos of the participation of RALM. Sorry we don't have more, but believe me, we were the only team that solved the task. We won the 1st place and we were very proud of that. Enjoy!!
