Medical Image Processing
Medical image computing techniques have a wide range of applications in medicine and bioscience. They have the potential to dramatically transform diagnostic processes and the efficiency of treatments. The adoption of pioneering techniques is of paramount importance in order to deliver earlier detection, as well as more robust and safer diagnostics decision support. Medical Image Analysis is an important and growing research theme in the Computer Vision group of the Department of Computer Science. We hope to facilitate solutions to medical imaging problems, in close collaboration with colleagues, to help reduce patient related treatment and aftercare costs. We have established links with the BRI Oncology Centre, BRI Nuclear Medicine Physics, Bristol Eye Hospital, UOB's School of Medical Sciences, UOB's Department of Anatomy, and many more.
