Abstract

In this paper, we examine reliability of stochastic systems with specific application to Stochastic Process Algebras. We look at variance as a possible reliability metric and show how it can be reduced across different Stochastic Process Algebra combinators, thus giving more deterministic and reliable systems. We apply these techniques to analyse and improve a searching algorithm.
