abstract={This paper reviews and evaluates the CBR Work completed at British Airways including the CASELine System (for the Boeing 747 fleet) and the system developed for the maintenance of CFM-56 Engines under the European Project INRECA. We emphasise some of the findings and lessons learnt from the application of CBR in the Airline Industry. The Second half of this paper reviews some work on Machine Learning Solutions for applications in the Flight Environment and investigates some of the problems of introducing software, developed using ML techniques, into applications that affect system safety. },
