At every BMVC conference prizes are awarded to best papers and demonstrations in different categories. This year the prizes are as follows:

• Best Scientific Paper (sponsored by HP Research Labs, Bristol): �500
  Maciel and Costeira from Instituto de Sistemas e Robotica, Portugal, for their paper Robust Point Correspondence by Concave Minimization.

• Best Industrial Paper (sponsored by Computer Recognition Systems, Wokingham): �500
  Magee and Boyle from the University of Leeds for their paper, Detecting Lameness in Livestock using Resampling Condensation and Multi-stream Cyclic Hidden Markov Models.

• Best Demonstration Prize (sponsored by the UKIVA): �200
  Karaulova, Hall, and Marshall from Cardiff University for their demo A Hierarchical Model of Dynamics for Tracking People with a Single Video Camera.

• Best Poster Prize: �200
  Broadhurst and Cipolla from Cambridge University, for their poster A Statistical Consistency Check for the Space Carving Algorithm.

• Best Thesis Prize: �250

Prizes were awarded at the Conference Dinner at the Ashton Court Mansion.
