The Department's 25th Anniversary

Mike Rogers ScholarshipsIn celebration of our anniversary we are launching the Mike Rogers Scholarships in honour of our first head of department.For home or EU students entering in 2009 and beyond we will provide ten scholarships worth up to two thousand pounds each over the course of the degree. The scholarships will be five hundred pounds per year and will be awarded to ten students, on the basis of the their academic record and the contents of their UCAS application. The award will continue for the length of their studies subject to satisfactory progress. For home or EU students entering in 2008 and those already here we will be awarding a number of scholarships of two hundred pounds to the top five students in each year. |

25th Anniversary Party, 23rd January 2009A celebration of 25 years of Computer Science took place on Friday 23rd January 2009. Over 170 staff, students and alumni enjoyed the food, drinks and entertainment including a casino, jazz band and disco. A news story on this is now available: News Article |

Convocation Weekend (3rd/4th/5th July 2009)This is to be the main University celebratory weekend. A number of events are planned, including some involving Computer Science. The main event we plan is a meal for alumni, staff and ex-staff on the evening of July 3rd at Goldney Hall. There are a limited number of places for this event, details of which will be sent to alumni nearer the time. |
